October has felt like it’s rushed by in a whirlwind (it’s almost November…when did that happen?!) and the next month will prove to be the same for me. I leave for Lake Placid again in a week for a sliding school for skeleton and I’m incredibly anxious/nervous/excited and of course, slightly terrified. If I pick up the technique quickly and slide well, I can stay the following week to continue to train.
This time around, I’ll be going up with my twin brother Donald, and I’ll meet another AUFH’er — Megan Henry– up there as well. Over the course of the week, we’ll learn about the course and slide, starting at Start 4 and working our way up to the top of the mountain by the 3rd or 4th day there.
Again, I’ll post while I’m up there about how it’s going, any photos or videos and any news I get. If I do well, I’ll be invited to an advanced sliding school in December, so that’s the next goal. To finish, I added two new pages to my site where I’ll post photos and videos from my adventures. Check them out!
